A recent current event aggravated an old emotion and the response from my body caused pain for 4 days. Here is how it went, I heard from an old friend (unresolved issues about security), I felt fear and my body responded by….well I will spare you the details.
What I know about the mind/body connection was that I needed to get help right away to resolve the issue, so I made an appointment with Michelle Valeri.
This is an absolute:

Michelle Valeri, Chinese Medicine Consultant shares her thoughts on how you can assist your body through an emotion.
Helping Your Body Heal Through An Emotion
by Michelle Valeri,
Chinese Medicine Consultant and Chinese Medicine Esthetician
All throughout our lives our mind and body receive message units (information). Our unconscious mind processes these incoming messages as fact until we are old enough to reason otherwise. However, trauma still effects us at any age.
Emotions are the way the body communicates an imbalance. Any excess of an emotion is a sign that the body is trying to tell us which body system(s) need our attention.
Think about what happens when something upsets you and you begin to cry (because you are sad). Your face and nose may get red, your eyes may get puffy and red, your nose will run or get stuffy, and possibly get a headache. Left undetected additionally, your stomach may feel discomfort which can lead to a change in your digestion in the form of constipation or diarrhea, your appetite changes, and there are sometimes food cravings. Sleep patterns may change over time leaving you feeling exhausted and wondering why.
If you continue to ignore the sadness, you will start to see lines forming around your eyes and possibly your mouth (why she is also a Chinese Medicine Esthetician). Left unresolved, sadness can begin to manifest in the form of upper respiratory infections, allergies, asthma, or worse.
Practical Tips to Help Emotions Process Out
In addition to your hypnotherapy to release these old unprocessed emotions, introducing good quality oils into your diet like: olive oils, coconut oil, avocado oil, and nut or seed oils will help your body better process these emotions. You can drink any of these oils once a day.
Deep breathing exercises may also assist in the healing process.
This simple breathing technique can be done multiple times per day. All breaths should be slow, steady, and even.
Inhale slowly for a count of 3 seconds, hold for 3 seconds, and exhale for 3 seconds. Do this 9 times!
