1 low-GI carb serving

Dinner: 1 protein serving
2-3 cups or more vegetables/salad

1 fruit serving

Snack: 1-2 cups vegetables/salad

Men:

GI refers to the glycemic index of a food, the GI number indicates how quickly that food is converted into sugar (glucose) and enters the blood stream. Foods with a lower number break down slowly, creating a gradual release of glucose into the bloodstream. The benefit is a person can stay in fat burn mode as opposed to experiencing highs after eating sugary snacks that carry a high glycemic rating.
