hypnosis for weight loss

Dallas Certified Hypnotist Valerie Grimes increases one’s natural ability to meet goal by changing one’s belief about weight loss.

What is your belief about your ability to reach your weight loss goal?

When I ask a client about their belief about their ability to reach their goal, it is the most important question in the weight loss program interview process. And how the person responds with their words, tone of voice, and body language are an indication of whether they will succeed in the long-term. The reason is due to beliefs or imprints that oppose their current goal.

Imprints are formed continuously, without our conscious awareness. Everything we experience in life produces a reaction, consider someone’s rude remark about what you were wearing, you might feel embarrassed, or be sad or angry. Or, if someone told you to clean your plate because there were starving children in foreign countries, you might have decided you would be guilty or wrong if you wasted food.

At this moment, consider your eating habits, do you clean your plate (even though you are no longer hungry)? Do you eat surgery treats to reward yourself? Do you drink alcohol to calm down? Do you horde food because you think there isn’t enough? Is this your 10th attempt at weight loss but without permanent results? These are all  behaviors client demonstrate on a daily basis. Behaviors formed long ago through imprinting and now operate automatically as part of a system of beliefs or truths, even though most of those beliefs aren’t really even true.

So when I ask, “what is your belief about your ability to reduce weight” (which means, not cleaning the plate, no hording and no surgery treats), they will probably base their answer on the past.

However, with hypnosis we can change those beliefs by examining the original source of that belief and creating a new one that supports one’s healthy new goals. For example, old belief – I always clean my plate; new belief – I only put enough food on my plate to satisfy my current level of hunger.

Once a person’s beliefs are revised to support their weight loss goal, their natural ability to reach that goal increases.
