How using a hypnotist for smoking cessation works to assist 57 year old female to be a non smoker.
Karen wants to be a non smoker so she can live longer and enjoy her grandchildren. There are also other benefits to being a non smoker. One of them is the feeling of pride and accomplishment at overcoming a difficult habit.
What I do as your hypnotist for smoking cessation is to reconnect you with a previous time that you experienced a feeling of pride and accomplishment, for my most recent client Karen, it was passing the CPA exam. A hypnotist for smoking cessation can connect that past event (and the feelings attached to it) with the current challenge of being a non smoker. The result creates a new pathway in the brain that stimulates the feelings of pride and accomplishments at the thought of being a non – smoker.
One of the most important things we do in creating the smoking cessation hypnosis program is to have the client leave with a plan…
- a plan on how they will deal with any withdraw symptoms,
- a plan on how they will deal with uncomfortable feelings,
- a plan on how they will deal with stress management and
- a crisis plan, should they have a desire for a cigarette.
Our hypnosis for smoking cessation program is about turning up the motivation to quit, keep them committed, providing support and encouragement as well as an education about how the mind works.
Using a hypnotist for smoking cessation consists of 3 sessions:
On the 1st visit she learned about the 3 aspects of the smoking habit as well as received hypnosis to turn up the motivation and to begin to identify her self as a non-smoker (visualizing herself in her car, at home, drinking coffee, all as a non smoker).
During the 2nd visit, a week later, she came in with bright eyes and a smile and said, “I have just smoked my last cigarette, I feel great and I’m excited about my new life I’m creating.”
She also realized that she doesn’t enjoy smoking much at all, it is a time – waster, also that it stimulates her NOT relaxes her as she previously thought (so she began relating to herself in a more positive and seeing cigarettes as less of a need).
The 3rd session is reversed for stress management, weight management, or parts therapy. Most clients never need the 3rd one for smoking, but use it to enhance their new healthy lives.
